Registered Veterinary Technician
Lifesaving impact, rewarding careers: For more than 150 years, the ASPCA has been on the frontlines to save, transform and protect the lives of millions of animals. We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician to join a world-class team providing high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter sterilization services at our ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance facility to support lifesaving care and make a critical impact on the vulnerable animals who need us most.
ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance (ASNA) is the premier training center for high-quality, high-volume companion animal sterilization. Altering over 21,000 shelter, rescue, and publicly owned companion animals annually, ASNA has trained more than 7,000 veterinary professionals and fourth year veterinary student externs at our campus in Asheville, NC since 2005. ASNA is proud to set the bar for the standard of care in HQHVSN and provide world-class spay and neuter surgical instruction to veterinary professionals and students.
The Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) is the hub of ASNA's daily medical operations and serves as the informational and executional conduit between veterinarians, veterinary and kennel assistants, peer RVTs, transport partners, ASNA transport operations, and clients. A role with much responsibility, the RVT is charged with receiving and executing directives from veterinarians, providing medical leadership to the veterinary and kennel assistant teams, executing medical and surgical floor duties, safely handling controlled and other prescription drugs, and keeping medical records. The individual in this role must demonstrate excellent multi-tasking skills, strong diplomacy, exceptional communication skills, the innate ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and a consistent commitment to high performance and adherence to best practices. Fundamental expectations for this role are providing impeccable care to surgical patients, eagerly assisting veterinarians, veterinary assistants, and kennel assistants in pre-, peri-, and postoperative duties, participating in facility upkeep and maintenance, and enthusiastically hosting clients and visiting trainees.
This position is an on-site role and reports to the ASPCA Spay Neuter Alliance in Asheville, NC. This role requires flexibility in schedule to accommodate program needs, which could include varied daily shifts, weekends, evenings, and holidays. Regular schedules are rotating between two shifts:
- 1st shift: Monday: 7:30-4:30, Tuesday-Thursday: 7-4, Friday: 7-11
- 2nd shift: Monday-Thursday: 8:30-5:30, Friday: 8:30-12:30
- Schedules are subject to change at the sole discretion of the ASPCA
- Travel up to 5% as needed
Compensation

The target hiring range is for new hire offers only, and staff compensation may increase beyond the maximum hiring range based on performance over time. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. The expected hiring salary range for this role is set forth below and may be modified in the future.
