Electrical EngineerFairmont, West Virginia, United StatesJob SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing electrical systems, ensuring projects meet industry standards and client expectations.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and implement electrical systems for various projects.Review project drawings and make necessary corrections.Report drawing corrections and issues to the Engineering Manager and/or President.Perform specific duties internal to WV Electric.Ensure designs lead to safe, profitable installations that meet customer requirements and schedules.Analyze and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and specifications.Perform calculations for power distribution, load analysis, and system efficiency.Oversee installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.Collaborate with project managers, technicians, and clients to ensure timely project completion.Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with local and national electrical codes and standards.Provide technical support and troubleshoot system issues as needed.Stay updated with advancements in electrical engineering technology and industry best practices.Primary ResponsibilitiesDesign and Development: Create electrical systems for industrial, commercial, and custom projects.Design control panels, wiring layouts, and electrical schematics.Use software like AutoCAD Electrical to develop system designs.Systems Integration: Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and other automation systems.Ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into broader automation frameworks.Project Oversight: Manage electrical projects from concept to completion.Collaborate with customers, technicians, and subcontractors to ensure designs meet specifications.Conduct site visits to supervise installations and troubleshoot issues.Compliance and Safety: Ensure designs and installations adhere to local, national, and international electrical codes (e.g., NEC).Conduct risk assessments to maintain safety and operational standards.Testing and Maintenance: Test electrical systems and ensure functionality and efficiency.Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and automation system failures.Perform preventative maintenance and recommend upgrades for efficiency.Collaboration: Work closely with WV Electric's engineering team, project managers, and clients to deliver tailored solutions.Provide technical guidance to other staff and stakeholders.Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to implement innovative solutions.QualificationsBachelors degree in Electrical EngineeringExperience in electrical designValid drivers license.Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, MATLAB, or similar tools.Strong understanding of electrical codes (e.g., NEC, IEC).Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and teamwork abilities.Specialized Areas Based on WV ElectricIndustrial Automation: Design and maintain automated electrical systems for manufacturing and industrial facilities.Custom Control Panels: Engineer and test custom electrical panels built in WV Electrics fabrication facilities.Energy Efficiency: Develop energy-efficient systems to reduce client operational costs.Must HaveBachelors degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university.Experience in electrical design (5 years preferred)Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, MATLAB, or similar toolsPLC and HMI experienceOversee projects from conception to completionTravel up to 25% of the time to job sites on the east coastStable work historyNice to HaveCoal mining electrical engineering exp is highly preferred.Or refer someone
