Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to perinatal patients across assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation stages; coordinate, manage, provide, and delegate care as needed.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, administer prescribed medications, interpret monitoring data, respond to emergencies, and ensure safety and comfort of mother and newborn.
- Collaborate with physicians, CNAs, and the health care team to deliver coordinated, evidence-based labor and delivery services.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to the CNA and other team members; supervise care plans and adjust as patient needs evolve.
- Document care accurately in the health information system, maintain standards of nursing practice, and ensure privacy and safety for patients and families.
- Uphold patient advocacy and educate patients and families about procedures, pain management, postpartum care, and newborn care.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license appropriate for practice in California (state regulations apply).
- Perinatal or labor and delivery nursing experience preferred.
- Ability to work nights and 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced hospital setting.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
