Must-Have: BLS Certification
Description:
We are seeking a proficient multi-modality Radiologic Technologist.
CT experience is required and ARRT CT certification preferred.
The candidate must be able to obtain and process quality images.
Timely completion of all required documentation and paperwork is necessary.
Preparing patients for examinations in a professional manner is essential.
Providing safe care based on age-specific needs of the patient is crucial.
Interactions with radiologists and the diagnostic imaging team must be effective.
Compliance with protocols and procedures is required.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and be self-motivated.
Compassion, empathy, and congeniality are expected.
Candidates must be comfortable working independently.
Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills are essential.
Adaptability is necessary due to inconsistent workload.
Interested candidates are encouraged to apply.
Job Responsibilities:
Greet patients and explain procedures to them.
Answer patients' questions and assist them as necessary.
Notify nurses when patients will be leaving the unit.
Ensure that patients are appropriately changed for exams.
Prepare exam rooms to receive patients and ensure cleanliness.
Ensure all supplies are readily available and ready for use.
Prepare patients for exams by assisting them as required.
Remove items that could cause artifacts prior to imaging.
Utilize ALARA principles at all times when performing exams.
Perform all requested routine and specialty diagnostic radiology exams.
Shield every patient when possible.
Produce diagnostic images with accurate positioning.
Optimize image quality with appropriate technique selection.
Close out exams and send images for interpretation.
Monitor and stock radiology supplies regularly.
Check for expired items and perform necessary quality control documentation.
Adhere to equipment maintenance requirements.
Perform basic office duties related to scheduling radiology exams.
Assist with obtaining necessary protocols and prior authorizations.
Send images to other facilities and create discs upon request.
Maintain necessary record keeping for sending images and scanning documents.
Be reachable during on-call hours as requested.
Maintaining a supportive and positive work environment is encouraged.
The work environment can vary from relaxed to busy.
Staff members are willing to help with patient transport and other tasks.
The department features state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging equipment.
All images are read and interpreted by board-certified radiologists.
Staff are registered by relevant certifying organizations.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
Must be a graduate of an accredited program for Radiologic Technology.
Must possess ARRT (R) and (CT) certifications.
Experience in multiple modalities is preferred.
Excellent customer service and patient care skills are required.
Experience with relevant electronic medical record systems is preferred.
Living within a reasonable distance of the workplace is preferred but not required.
