Overview
Speech Language Pathologist, Acute Care, is needed for a travel assignment in a skilled nursing facility setting located in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. The start date is 09/07/2026 and the assignment runs for 13 weeks. The role offers a weekly pay range of $2,265 to $2,430 with guaranteed 35 hours per week. The shift is 5x8 days, 08:00–16:30. This is a temporary travel position with responsibilities centered in an acute care environment within a skilled nursing facility.

Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive speech, language, voice, resonance, cognition, and swallowing assessments as appropriate for residents in an acute care/SNF setting.
- Create and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication and swallowing disorders; adjust plans based on progress and clinical findings.
- Provide direct therapy to residents and educate patients and families on home exercise programs, compensatory strategies, and expected outcomes.
- Document evaluation results, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge planning in the resident’s medical record; ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate daily with an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, dietitians, OT/PT, and social services to coordinate care and optimize outcomes.
- Monitor safety and adherence to swallow precautions, infection control, and facility policies; participate in care conferences and care planning meetings.
- Communicate assessment findings and recommendations to the care team; advocate for residents’ communication needs and quality of life.
- Participate in discharge planning, transfers, and transition of care, providing relevant documentation and education as required.

Requirements
- Active license to practice Speech-Language Pathology in Pennsylvania (PA).
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Relevant clinical experience in acute care or skilled nursing facility settings preferred.
- Ability to work in a skilled nursing facility environment on a travel assignment, with daytime weekday coverage.
- Strong documentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
