Part Time Registered Nurse

Job Description A Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) who reports to the Plasma Center Manager and supports plasma center operations, ensuring donor eligibility, safety, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, managing informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including the development of Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings to donors or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is needed by occupational health/ER, referring to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents. Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats within the local community. Maintain knowledge of regulations governing plasma collection or manufacturing environments and provide center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS) per BioLife Medical Affairs guidance. Qualifications High‑school diploma or equivalent, or graduate-level nursing program with state requirements. Licensed or certified RN, NP or PA in the state of assignment. Current CPR and AED certification. State‑mandated basic IV therapy competency. Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Minimum two years of clinical or hospital experience.
