Quality Manager

The Quality Manager will lead quality assurance and quality control activities across manufacturing, fabrication, welding, and assembly operations. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for ensuring product quality, regulatory compliance, weld integrity, and continuous improvement across the organisation. Description Lead all quality assurance and quality control activities across manufacturing, welding, fabrication, and assembly operations. Perform and oversee inspections of components, welds, and assemblies using engineering drawings, specifications, and applicable industry standards. Manage non-destructive testing activities including visual, magnetic particle, dye penetrant, and ultrasonic testing methods. Conduct dimensional inspections using precision measurement equipment and tools. Interpret and apply industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements. Manage non-conforming materials, corrective actions, root cause investigations, and quality documentation. Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS). Oversee welder qualification, certification, and performance testing programmes. Review and approve welding procedures and qualification records while ensuring compliance with applicable standards. Partner with Production, Engineering, and Project Management teams to resolve quality concerns and improve operational processes. Track and analyse quality metrics while leading initiatives to reduce defects, rework, and waste. Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to quality personnel, welders, and manufacturing teams. Profile AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required. Minimum 7 years of quality experience within manufacturing, fabrication, welding, or a related industrial environment. Strong knowledge of welding codes, standards, and quality requirements. Experience managing weld certification programmes and welder qualifications. Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, weld symbols, and technical specifications. Experience working with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods and Quality Management Systems. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience within heavy manufacturing, structural fabrication, industrial equipment, or related environments. Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management standards. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, Quality, or a related technical discipline.
