Salary: $118,300 - 219,800 per year Requirements:

• We require 10+ years of experience in software, network, or systems engineering.
• We require a BS in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience; an advanced degree is preferred.
• We look for strong command of programming languages, code, and databases.
• We need expert-level capability in one or more programming languages or equivalent expertise in an engineering discipline.
• We expect deep knowledge across multiple areas such as parallel and distributed processing, information retrieval, data mining, natural language processing, very large-scale databases, declarative languages, and high-performance computing.
• We need solid working knowledge in several areas including network design, storage system architectures, service-oriented architecture technologies, XML/XSLT, and parallel processing architectures.
• We look for experience with multiple operating systems such as Windows Server, UNIX/Linux, and z/OS.
• We require strong organization, project planning, time management, change management, and delegation skills across multiple teams and departments.
• We need advanced problem-solving experience leading teams to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
• We look for strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and customer service skills for audiences ranging from teams to senior leadership.
• We require strong research skills.

• We provide effective architectural and structural design for the relevant RELX business unit.
• We maintain, develop, and deliver technical knowledge and expertise.
• We determine the technical feasibility of development projects.
• We act as the link between Global Architecture and engineering or development teams.
• We collaborate with architects across different organizations.
• We introduce and train teams on new technologies.
• We lead teams in resolving complex technical issues by identifying and coordinating needed resources.
• We evaluate emerging technologies and assess their fit for the business.
• We translate findings into options and solutions, including risks, impacts, and schedule adjustments to support management decisions.
• We steer technical direction and evolve architecture through reviews and hands-on leadership.
• We monitor business unit system health and develop proposals to address negative trends.
• We proactively identify subsystems or components that should become shared infrastructure.
• We research, track, learn, and assess industry and technology developments to expand technical opportunities.
• We carry out other duties as assigned.
