Registered Nurse Job Details Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Intermediate Care Location: Virginia Beach, Virginia Schedule: Day shift, 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Shift Duration: 12-hour nursing shifts Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week when scheduled Assignment: Per diem Registered Nurse opportunity with a one-year assignment period Availability: Must work at least one shift per month to remain active in the per diem pool Orientation: Weekday, Monday–Friday availability required Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130 PCU Registered Nurse Job Requirements Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Virginia At least 2 years of professional acute-care RN experience At least 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or intermediate-care nursing experience Ability to provide safe, effective patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment Strong patient assessment, communication, organization, and critical-thinking skills Availability to complete weekday orientation and maintain the required per diem commitment Progressive Care Unit RN Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to acute-care patients requiring progressive or intermediate-level monitoring Perform ongoing patient assessments, identify changes in condition, and promptly escalate concerns Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with established clinical standards Monitor vital signs, cardiac status, laboratory results, and other indicators of patient progress Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, discharge planning, and recovery needs Accurately document assessments, nursing interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record Support a culture of teamwork, patient safety, dignity, and compassionate patient care Apply now to join our Progressive Care Unit nursing team and explore this flexible per diem RN opportunity in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
