Location Name of Facility : St Bernard School Address 3604 North 65th Street Omaha, Nebraska 68104 Description Department: Elementary Reports to: Principal Principal Duties and Responsibilities This position requires the teacher to develop lesson plans, design classroom instruction, and facilitate learning for all students in small classes. The teacher will create a caring, Christian, and positive learning environment for academic, social-emotional, and spiritual development. The teacher will provide accommodations to support the student's growth in the general curriculum and, if necessary, also work with resource staff to adjust to meet the needs of all students. The teacher will maintain students' academic progress and records, along with various assessments to document students' progress throughout the year. The teacher will maintain lines of communication between parents, students, their instructional Para, administration, and fellow school staff. Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Effective classroom management Strong skills and in-depth knowledge in language arts Well developed written and oral communication skills Familiar with and confident in technology systems (lap tops, apple TVs) Strong organizational and time management abilities Background in elementary education and committed to the Catholic faith Expertise in curriculum, instruction and assessment in the content area Education and Experience Strong in understanding and living the Catholic faith Bachelor’s degree in education Possess a valid teacher, provisional, or alternate teacher certification from the State of Nebraska Teaching experience preferred Complete a background check, and the Archdiocese of Omaha required Safe Environment Training Application Instructions Cover letter and resume List of references, only contacted when an applicant has reached semi-finalist standing and with the permission of the applicant (to preserve confidentiality on the applicant’s part) Send materials to Roseanne Williby, Ed.
