As a Mold Maker you will perform responsibilities that support the daily operations of your assigned employer while following established procedures, quality standards, and workplace safety requirements. Duties may include operating equipment, working with customers, handling materials, preparing documentation, supporting administrative activities, using technology, collaborating with team members, or completing other responsibilities appropriate to the position. Successful Mold Maker professionals demonstrate adaptability, professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing quality work while contributing to organizational success. - Review tooling designs for plastic components to ensure they meet engineering, manufacturing, and customer requirements.
- Design and develop tools, molds, dies, and fixtures for high-quality components.
- Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve tooling performance, quality, and cost.
- Use mold-flow analysis to identify potential molding issues and improve production efficiency.
- Work with tooling suppliers during the RFQ process.
- Maintain documentation related to tooling designs, analysis, and process improvements.
- Support continuous improvement of tooling processes and manufacturing capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of injection molding tooling design and mold-making processes
- Hands-on experience with injection molding tools and tool maintenance
- SolidWorks/CAD
- GD&T
- Mold-flow analysis
- SPC, DOE, and Six Sigma
- Knowledge of 2-shot molding, insert molding, IMD/IML
- Understanding of machining and secondary processes
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
