About the Position

Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 6 months Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: 2 years required License: Current nursing license in hand Certifications: - ACLS (Required) - AWHONN Beginner (Required) - BLS (Required) - NRP (Required) - AWHONN Advanced (Preferred) - AWHONN Intermediate (Preferred) Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred Description: Labor and Delivery RN position available for a 12-hour night shift. The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery. First-time travelers with acceptable experience will be considered. Patient age group includes neonates to adults. Weekend coverage will be required every other week. The facility has a 15-bed Labor and Delivery unit that practices inpatient rooming with infants. All infants will remain in rooms with their mothers. The newborn nursery will be utilized for infants needing additional care. Candidates must be proficient in using the Omnicell medication system and familiar with SBAR communication. Key skills include performing assessments, supporting breastfeeding, and administering medications. The role involves managing high-risk deliveries and performing various labor-related procedures. The unit values teamwork and interdisciplinary support, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Ideal candidates should possess strong clinical skills and a passion for maternal and neonatal care.
