Senior Quality Technician

Job TitleThis role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminium manufacturing solutions.ResponsibilitiesPosition Responsibilities:Performs a variety of qualitative and quantitative analysis of raw materials, packaging materials, and/or finished products from manufacturing, to ensure compliance to customer and regulatory requirements and specifications in regards to chemical, physical, and mechanical properties.Assist Engineering in establishing testing requirements and providing test data.Apply knowledge of engineering and science to conduct tests on metallic and non-metallic materials (e.g.metals, composites, sealants, adhesives, rubber products, plastics) to validate compliance with conformance specifications and provide consultation on related issues.Applies existing techniques and procedures with recommendations and implementation for improved efficiency, or devises and develops new analytical test methods and techniques.QualificationsBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance5-9 years of experience with raw materials testingPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Fiber/Void/Resin Content Testing on pre-impregnated materialsSample Prep – operating a CNC Machine, Lathe, table saw, band saw or grinder for metallic raw materials.Operating element analyzersOperating tensile machinesSample prep of composite and metallic materials for testingComposite machiningWelding BackgroundUnion:This is a union-represented position.Drug Free Workplace:We are a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Pay & Benefits:We strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
