Respiratory Therapist

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing comprehensive cardiopulmonary services under the guidelines established by the medical staff and departmental policies. This role includes delivering timely diagnostic and therapeutic services to both inpatients and outpatients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist physicians with invasive and non-invasive procedures.
• Deliver medicated aerosols using medical compressed gas.
• Maintain airways and manage ventilator support.
• Perform ventilator weaning and tracheostomy care.
• Conduct intubations and arterial line insertions.
• Perform pulmonary function studies and cardiac stress tests.
• Conduct blood gas analyses to evaluate respiratory function.

Qualifications:

• Two years of recent experience with ventilators, ventilator weaning, tracheostomy, endotracheal (ET) tubes, CPAP, BiPAP, and nebulizer treatments is required.
• Current certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
• State licensure as an RT is required.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications, valid through the American Heart Association.
