Key Responsibilities:

As a Cook , you’ll have a direct impact on our residents’ well-being through food that meets their specific dietary needs. Your responsibilities will include:

• Meal Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook meals following daily menus, recipes, and individual dietary requirements (e.g., low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, pureed diets).

• Recipe Adjustment: Adjust recipes and portion sizes to meet the dietary guidelines and the number of residents being served.

• Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards in line with state and federal regulations.

• Kitchen Organization: Keep the kitchen clean and organized by regularly sanitizing surfaces and equipment.

• Collaborative Communication: Work closely with residents, families, and nursing staff to understand and accommodate special dietary needs and preferences.

• Quality Improvement: Gather feedback from residents to improve meal quality and satisfaction.

• Team Collaboration: Work alongside other kitchen staff and dietary aides to ensure smooth and efficient meal service.

• Positive Work Environment: Participate in staff meetings and contribute to maintaining a positive, cooperative work atmosphere.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience: Previous cooking experience in a healthcare setting (e.g., SNF, hospital, assisted living) is preferred.

• Knowledge: Familiarity with therapeutic diets, food safety regulations, and food service standards in a healthcare environment.

• Skills: Strong culinary skills, ability to follow recipes accurately, and attention to dietary restrictions.

• Certification: Food Handler’s Certification or ServSafe Certification required.
