• Minimum 2 years of recent RN Radiation Oncology experience required
• Oncology RN experience alone will not be considered
• Active RN License
• BLS Certification (AHA)
• ACLS Certification (AHA)

Job Description:
The Radiation Oncology Nurse is a Registered Nurse who works collaboratively with the Radiation Oncology team to provide continuity and quality patient care. The nurse is responsible for assessing and providing nursing interventions for patients experiencing actual or potential problems related to cancer diagnosis, radiation treatment, and follow-up care.

This role includes patient education, counseling, and supportive care to help patients and families cope with the diagnosis and treatment process. The RN will assist Radiation Oncologists during patient evaluations and examinations and act as a liaison between Radiation Oncology, hospitals, physician offices, and support services.

The Radiation Oncology Nurse will also coordinate referrals for rehabilitation, hospice, nutritional support, nursing home care, and other recovery resources as needed.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to coordinate oncology patient care with interdisciplinary teams
• Highly organized and flexible
• Knowledge of chronic illness and comorbidity management
• Current understanding of evidence-based oncology, immunology, pharmacology, and community health practices
• Ability to provide culturally sensitive care across various age groups and developmental stages
• Up-to-date knowledge of hematology/oncology procedures, protocols, and standards
