Description
  • Assess patients from various age groups, utilizing both standardized assessments and keen observational skills.
  • Craft tailored treatment plans to meet immediate goals alongside long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing enhancement.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions tailored to improve communication, language skills, fluency, voice production, and swallowing abilities.
  • Partner with an interdisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to create comprehensive care strategies.
  • Educate patients and families to promote therapeutic progress in non-clinical settings.
  • Contribute to inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to uphold continuity of care across the treatment journey.
  • Ensure precise and prompt documentation in alignment with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Engage in ongoing professional education and collaboration with peers to stay at the forefront of the field.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessary within the first 30 days of employment.
Skills
  • Adept in evidence-based approaches for treatment across age groups, with a solid grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to foster connections with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Ability to tailor therapy strategies to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Competent in navigating electronic medical records and a variety of documentation standards.
