Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Lab Technologist with strong Anatomic Pathology (AP) experience and laboratory supervisory expertise to oversee operations across multiple AP laboratory areas in New York City.

The ideal candidate will have an active NYS Histotechnician (HT) license , at least 4 years of Anatomic Pathology experience , and demonstrated experience supervising laboratory staff and overseeing laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Anatomic Pathology laboratories.
• Provide leadership and supervision to laboratory personnel.
• Oversee operations in:
  • Histology
  • Cytopathology, currently limited to send-out testing with plans for future expansion
  • Gross Room
  • Mortuary Chemistry Laboratory
• Ensure laboratory procedures are performed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Monitor workflow, quality, staffing, and operational performance.
• Support laboratory policies, procedures, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with physicians, laboratory leadership, and other healthcare professionals.
• Identify operational needs and assist with process improvement initiatives.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to laboratory staff.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active NYS HT (Histotechnician) license/qualification required.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in Anatomic Pathology.
• Previous laboratory supervisory experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or Physical Sciences preferred.
• Candidates with at least 5 years of experience in a similar laboratory environment, including supervisory experience , may also be considered.
• Experience overseeing laboratory operations.
• Strong understanding of laboratory workflow, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
• 2+ years of experience overseeing laboratory operations preferred.
• Experience across multiple Anatomic Pathology laboratory sections.
• Strong staff leadership and operational management skills.
