About us: 

Opened in 2021, the Legends Rec-Plex offers a budget-conscious option for individuals and families. The Rec-Plex is a 24-hour city-owned and operated fitness center, cardio room, and banquet center. It also offers basketball courts, volleyball courts, batting cages, and a walking track, an indoor turf area, and a game room. 

 

Summary:

The Lead Rec-Plex Attendant serves as a part-time shift leader responsible for supporting daily facility operations, with a strong emphasis on customer service, staff oversight, and administrative support. This position ensures a safe, welcoming, and well-managed environment by supervising staff, assisting patrons, and maintaining efficient front desk and facility operations. The Lead Rec-Plex Attendant works within a shared leadership rotation to provide coverage during evenings and weekends.

 

Requirements:

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
• No felony convictions 
• Must be positive and professional at all times.
• Ability to deal with difficult people and good phone manners.
• Public speaking and computer skills.
• Ability to interact positively with supervisor, management, coworkers, members, and the public to promote a team effort approach.

 

Schedule & Coverage:

• Typical shifts will include evenings and weekends, with part-time hours up to 30 hours per week.
• Monday–Thursday: 4:00 p.m. – 9:45 p.m.
• Friday: 2:00 p.m. – 7:15 p.m.
• Saturday: 6:45 a.m. – 7:15 p.m.
  (Shifts rotated among Lead Rec-Plex Attendants.)

 

Essential Functions:

I. Leadership & Facility Oversight

1. Provide leadership and direction to part-time staff during assigned shifts.
2. Ensure all facility policies, procedures, and safety standards are consistently followed.
3. Serve as the primary point of contact during assigned shifts in the absence of full-time leadership.
4. Monitor daily operations to ensure assigned tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
5. Assist with opening and closing procedures and communicate operational updates to supervisors.

II. Receptionist / Clerical Duties

1. Answer and direct phone calls; take messages; respond to general inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality.
2. Greet visitors; provide information, handouts, and direction to appropriate personnel.
3. Register participants for programs and activities; collect fees and issue receipts.
4. Issue permits and communicates policies clearly and accurately.

III. Customer Service Activities

1. Maintain and utilize the department’s computer system for reservations and scheduling.
2. Process registrations for programs, classes, and facility rentals; maintain accurate participant and financial records.
3. Receive and process payments (in-person, mail, or drop box) ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
4. Respond to customer questions, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
5. Support memberships, reservations, and daily facility usage operations.

IV. Operational & Miscellaneous Duties

1. Assist with program and event setup, execution, and breakdown.
2. Perform general housekeeping duties (sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms, stocking supplies, etc.).
3. Distribute promotional materials and assist with community outreach efforts.
4. Support inventory management and distribution of recreation equipment.
5. Perform basic bookkeeping tasks including daily deposits and purchase documentation.
6. Maintain calendars, schedules, and facility usage tracking.
7. Attend staff meetings, trainings, and approved professional development opportunities.
8. Provide support to other staff as needed and complete additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
