Database Administrator 2Austin, TX (Remote within Texas, if in Austin area must go to office 2 days/week)9 months contract with possibility to extensionClient’s ITD (Information Technology Department) requires the services of a Database Administrator level 2 (DBA) to provide strong hands on skills to set up and manage Microsoft SQL servers pertaining to the migration, management, and storage of Client’s Tolling related information.The DBA will work closely with different teams comprised of analysts, project managers, architects, and developers to gather Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) needs for the tolling data, and create needed ETLs between the databases. They will follow good practices and project guidelines in all cases including the use of source code control, automated testing and deployment approaches, test-case-based development, and proper documentation practices.The DBA will additionally work closely with the DBA 3 SAP SLT engineer, understanding SLT data flows pulling from SAP, and into SQL server.The DBA responsibilities include but are not limited to:Microsoft SQL server installation and configurationDevelopment and management of ETL between SQL databases.Monitoring SQL databases storage and utilizationExecutes the procedures necessary to save, retrieve, and recover databases from hardware and software failures within established procedures.SQL server managementTracking data as it moves through the ETLReporting of anomaliesMicrosoft SQL reporting configurationDatabase performance tuningAssist:SLT Development for pulling data from SAPData lineageData discrepancy reportingData modeling and prototypingDetermining, implementing, and enhancing standards on database security and with monitoring agency disaster recovery procedures and systems.The selection of database management software.Required Skills/Experience:6 Experience managing migration into production, both data, and systems6 Experience with creating and managing ETLs6 Experience developing scripts, tables, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers, constraints, and so forth with MS SQL Server and Oracle6 Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining database systems5 Experience optimizing database performance through the use of database performance tuning techniques and toolsPreferred Skills/Experience:3 Data modeling experience
