Make a Difference in the Lives of Individuals with Brain Injuries! Residential Counselor – ABI Program BHcare is seeking compassionate Residential Counselors to join our Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Residential Program. This program provides a community-based living environment for individuals with acquired or traumatic brain injuries, helping residents build independence, access critical supports, and develop meaningful relationships in their community.

This position is Per Diem and there are various shifts available. Key responsibilities include: supporting daily program operations while ensuring a safe, positive living environment; assisting residents in implementing individualized recovery plans and reviewing progress regularly; providing support in daily living skills such as personal care, cooking, cleaning, and money management; facilitating rehabilitation interventions and group activities; advocating for clients and connecting them to medical, vocational, and community resources; monitoring and supporting medication protocols; documenting services, progress notes, and updates accurately and in a timely manner; providing crisis intervention and communicating with emergency providers when needed; remaining alert and ensuring resident safety at all times, including overnight shifts; and participating in training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Two years of college education (human services or behavioral science preferred) or High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2-4 years direct care work experience.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft 365. Must be able to navigate through electronic health records system (EHR).
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Must maintain an acceptable driving record and be insurable at a reasonable rate under the Organization's auto insurance plan.

LICENSURE /CERTIFICATIONS:

• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/AED/First Aid training
