Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1.5 - 2+ years in nursing, with 1 year in Med/Surg/Telemetry and 2 years in Stepdown License: RN License required Certifications: BCLS, ACLS required Must-Have: - Ability to read telemetry strips - IV start experience Description: Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit RN working 3x12 hour shifts. Typical patient ratio is 1:4, with flexibility to 1:5 in emergencies. Limited holiday time-off requests are permitted. Candidates may request a weekend block schedule. Scrubs are not provided, but the dress code includes burgundy and/or white. Candidates must have skills in IV start and telemetry monitoring. Most patients are cardiac cases, including those undergoing cardiac surgery or interventional procedures. Experience with a variety of other medical/surgical and medical patients is also beneficial. Candidates should possess skills in managing BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care, and tracheostomy care. Successful candidates will demonstrate proficiency in interpreting dysrhythmias and managing cardiac and vasoactive drips. Experience with rapid response and code team involvement is also expected. Participation in interdisciplinary support roles including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams may be required. Familiarity with Cerner as the electronic medical record system is essential. Candidates need to meet all required qualifications before contracting.
