Description:
We are seeking a Locum Hematologist Oncologist to fill a critical need.
The position involves variable patient contact hours primarily from Monday to Thursday.
Shifts per month will total 16 hours.
The shift length is 8 hours, with clinic hours from 08:00 to 16:30.
On-call responsibilities may include one week and one weekend per month, with phone calls only.


Inpatient responsibilities will exist, but visits to the hospital for consultations will be infrequent.
Hospitalists will admit all patients, and the physician will primarily field phone calls from hospitalists.
There will be no outreach or telehealth services required.


Job responsibilities include conducting consultations, providing follow-up care, and overseeing the administration of antineoplastics in the clinic.
The practice will support two advanced practice providers (APPs), although supervision of APPs is not expected.
The nursing support ratio is two nurses per one provider, along with referral and triage nurses.
Ancillary staff per provider include reception, lab, social worker, referrals, and a dietitian.


Services offered in the practice consist of administering antineoplastics, conducting phlebotomies, IV IgG, iron therapy, and bone marrow biopsies.
The clinic features four exam rooms, along with medical imaging and lab pharmacy services.
The average daily volume for the provider will be 16 to 20 patients.
The average daily hospital practice census is estimated to be 0 to 2 patients.
Appointment lengths can be adjusted to 15/20 minutes for follow-ups and 60 minutes for consultations.
The patient demographics will encompass individuals aged 18 years and older.
An electronic medical record system is in use.
This position also offers a teaching opportunity.
