About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of recent ICU experience required. License: Valid Ohio nursing license required. Certifications: BLS and ACLS required. Must-Have: - Surgical ICU / Trauma ICU / Burn ICU / Transplant ICU experience preferred. - First-time travelers accepted. - Floating required to different units as needed. - Call required. Description: The Registered Nurse will provide care to patients in a surgical intensive care setting. The position involves working night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Every other weekend will be required. The nurse will be responsible for managing complex patient needs and monitoring vital signs. Experience in arterial line management, chest tube insertion/removal, and ventilator management is required. Knowledge of medication administration and infection prevention protocols is essential. The ability to interpret arterial blood gases and manage dysrhythmias is also necessary. The nurse will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide optimal patient care. Patients will include adults and geriatrics with a range of surgical and trauma-related diagnoses. The unit supports a diverse set of patient procedures and requires familiarity with advanced monitoring equipment. Compliance with credentialing processes is mandatory, including completion of required paperwork promptly.
