Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRPS Must-Have: Previous charge experience, experience with patient ratios of 1-3, and familiarity with the Epic charting system Description: The position involves working in the labor and delivery unit. Postpartum experience is preferred. Weekend work to meet staffing needs is required. The average daily census is between 15-20 patients. The unit manages high-risk obstetric patients from a culturally diverse population. Registered Nurses will circulate in cesarean sections. Candidates must demonstrate skills in various labor and delivery practices. Key responsibilities include the administration of medications, blood products, and IV management. Additional duties include supporting lactation, performing assessments, and providing patient education. Floating to other areas within scope may be required based on the facility needs. Compliance with safety and patient care protocols is mandatory. Use of standard medical equipment and procedures will be part of daily responsibilities. Candidates need to be prepared to adapt to a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality patient care. The role includes supporting families through the labor and postpartum processes. Participation in interdisciplinary support roles such as collaboration with other healthcare professionals is expected. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.
