We are looking for a creative, highly motivated and social media savvy Social Media Specialist / Manager to help elevate our apparel client's digital presence and bring their story to life. We're looking for someone who is more than just a content creator or social media manager. We want a creative thinker and natural storyteller who is passionate about building community, identifying trends, and developing engaging content that connects with our audience. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping their social media strategy as they continue to grow their direct-to-consumer business. With a strong wholesale foundation and an expanding DTC presence, they are ready to invest further in their brand storytelling, social engagement, and digital community. From capturing behind-the-scenes moments at the warehouse to showcasing new collections, highlighting the founder, and developing fresh social concepts, this person will help bring the personality of the brand to life. The ideal candidate is equal parts creative and strategic, comfortable both developing big-picture ideas and rolling up their sleeves to execute them. Key Responsibilities Social Media Strategy & Content Creation Develop and execute a creative, engaging social media strategy that drives brand awareness, audience growth, and community engagement. Own the social media content calendar, ensuring consistent, compelling, and on-brand storytelling across platforms. Conceptualize and create original content, including short-form video, Reels, TikToks, Stories, and other engaging social formats. Stay ahead of emerging social media trends, platform updates, and cultural moments, identifying opportunities to incorporate them into the brand's content strategy. Bring fresh ideas and creative concepts to the table, moving beyond traditional product-focused posts to create more dynamic, personality-driven content. Identify opportunities to expand and strengthen the brand's TikTok presence through thoughtful, engaging content. Track content performance, analyze engagement metrics, and use insights to continually refine the social strategy. Brand Storytelling & On-Site Content Capture authentic, behind-the-scenes content at their headquarters, showcasing daily operations, warehouse activity, order fulfillment, new collections, and team culture. Develop storytelling concepts that highlight the people, processes, and personality behind the brand. Identify opportunities to feature the founder and leadership team through engaging, relatable content and thought leadership. Translate everyday business moments into compelling social stories that resonate with customers and strengthen brand affinity. Collaborate with the broader team to capture content around product launches, seasonal collections, and key brand initiatives. Community Engagement Actively manage social media engagement, including responding to comments, direct messages, and customer interactions. Build meaningful relationships with customers, retail partners, boutiques, influencers, and brand advocates. Manage the brand's Style Squad program, including identifying and recruiting new members, coordinating product requests, reviewing submissions, managing product orders, and maintaining the program calendar. Identify opportunities to strengthen the brand's online community and encourage authentic customer-generated content. Organize and maintain the brand photo album and content library to support ongoing social and marketing initiatives. Creative Collaboration & Campaign Support Partner closely with the Marketing Manager and senior brand leadership to align social media initiatives with broader marketing campaigns, product launches, and shoppable moments. Collaborate with the graphic designer and marketing team to ensure cohesive creative execution across channels. Contribute creative concepts, moodboards, and content direction for seasonal collections and campaigns. Assist in developing photoshoot guides and creative briefs for external photographers, ensuring content aligns with the brand's vision and marketing objectives. Help identify opportunities to repurpose campaign assets and photography into engaging, platform-specific social content. Qualifications Experience managing social media and creating content for a consumer-facing brand, ideally within fashion, accessories, children's products, lifestyle, or a related industry. Strong creative instincts with a passion for storytelling, visual content, and building engaging social communities. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute social media strategies that drive meaningful audience engagement and growth. Hands-on experience creating short-form video and social-first content for Instagram, TikTok, and other relevant platforms. Strong understanding of current social media trends, platform best practices, and evolving consumer behavior. Excellent written communication skills with the ability to develop engaging, brand-aligned captions and messaging. Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines. Collaborative team player who thrives in a creative, entrepreneurial environment. Comfortable working on-site in Long Island two days per week to capture content and collaborate with the team. Salary: $70,000–$90,000 DOE
