The Inventory Analyst is responsible for managing the physical inventory and lifecycle of IT hardware assets within the warehouse environment. This role supports Hardware Asset Management by ensuring inventory accuracy, coordinating receiving and shipping activities, maintaining asset records, and processing assets through deployment, return, redeployment, retirement, and disposal. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable handling technology equipment, and committed to accurate, audit-ready records.

What you will do

• Warehouse and Inventory Management

• • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming hardware shipments against available shipping and purchasing documentation.
  • Tag, label, scan, and store IT assets according to established warehouse and asset management standards.
  • Complete routine cycle counts, physical inventory checks, and stockroom reconciliations.
  • Investigate inventory variances, damaged equipment, missing items, and unmatched records through resolution.
  • Maintain an organized, secure, and efficient warehouse environment for laptops, desktops, monitors, peripherals, mobile devices, and accessories.
    

    Hardware Asset Lifecycle Management

• • Support hardware assets from receipt through assignment, return, redeployment, repair, retirement, and disposal.
  • Update asset status, location, ownership, assignment, and lifecycle information in ServiceNow or the designated asset management platform.
  • Process returned equipment and determine the appropriate next step based on established procedures.
  • Support asset reclamation activities for offboarded coworkers and other recovery programs.
  • Prepare approved assets for redeployment, transfer, recycling, or certified disposal.
    

    Asset Data Accuracy and Compliance

• • Reconcile physical inventory against asset system records and correct identified discrepancies.
  • Perform asset data validation, record audits, and exception tracking.
  • Maintain receiving, shipping, return, transfer, and disposition documentation.
  • Provide inventory records and supporting evidence for internal reviews and audit requests.
  • Follow organizational security, privacy, records retention, and environmental disposal requirements when handling devices and asset data.
    

    Logistics and Operational Support

• • Prepare, package, and coordinate outbound hardware shipments.
  • Track inbound and outbound deliveries, returns, and carrier exceptions.
  • Partner with Procurement, Service Desk, Security, Human Resources, field support, and other IT teams to resolve asset issues.
  • Support hardware refreshes, large deployments, reclamation campaigns, and warehouse improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory controls, processing time, data quality, and warehouse workflows.

What you need for this

• Required Qualifications

• • Two or more years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, logistics, IT asset management, or a related function.
  • Experience performing inventory counts, reconciliations, receiving, shipping, or warehouse transactions.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accurate data-entry practices.
  • Ability to organize competing priorities, follow documented procedures, and investigate discrepancies.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, accountability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in a warehouse environment and safely lift or move equipment up to 50 pounds, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
    

    Preferred Qualifications

    Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

  • Experience with ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management or another IT asset management platform.
  • Knowledge of IT Asset Management and Hardware Asset Management lifecycle practices.
  • Experience with barcode scanners, inventory tracking tools, shipping systems, or mobile scanning devices.
  • Familiarity with enterprise IT hardware, including computers, monitors, peripherals, mobile devices, and accessories.
  • Experience supporting hardware refresh, reclamation, redeployment, or disposal programs.
  • Exposure to audit controls, chain-of-custody documentation, data sanitization, or environmentally responsible disposition processes.
