The Crane Field Service Technician I provides face‑to‑face customer service at off‑site locations, performing minor troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and reconditioning LinkeBelt cranes. The incumbent is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) collaborate with key internal and external resources; 3) participate in ongoing self‑development. Department: Diversified Businesses (DIV) Employment Type: Full Time Workplace Type: Onsite Location: Georgetown, TX 78628 Essential Functions Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards. Performs minor repairs and minimal troubleshooting offsite with minimal supervision. Performs minor troubleshooting and minimal diagnoses of equipment malfunctions and failures. Removes and installs parts, disassembles and assembles basic components. Tests and verifies proper operation of all repairs. Prepares and completes all job‑related documents, writes service reports, orders parts, and maintains clear customer records; accesses required databases. Operates equipment and vehicles with necessary licenses and certificates. Maintains service‑vehicle inspection records, daily inspections and driver logs required by DOT. Adheres to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations. Maintains all company equipment, tools, and vehicle in clean, good working order. Communicates job progress to supervisor and customer as needed. Completes assigned jobs and tasks to meet flat‑rate time and re‑work standards. Works overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs. Completes all assigned Technician Training Path courses and safety training in a timely, proficient manner. Projects professionalism with internal and external customers, including personal appearance; may act as a mentor to lower‑level technicians. Requires regular and punctual employee attendance. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of safe work procedures and practices. Basic knowledge of equipment and tools, their design, use, repair, and maintenance. Basic knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, engines, undercarriage, and electrical systems. Proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and basic machine electronic systems. Exceptional customer‑service skills. Basic diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Planning and organizing skills to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, and plan for additional resources. Operation and control skills of equipment or systems. Equipment selection skills to determine the tools and equipment needed to do a job. Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to operate a crane and forklift and obtain required certifications/licenses. Ability to meet deadlines and work under fast‑paced, time‑constraining circumstances. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in mechanical repair. Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects. Requirements More than one year of heavy equipment experience required; three or more years preferred. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. MSHA certification preferred. Air conditioning certification preferred. Crane/Rigger certifications preferred. Valid driver's license required. Ability to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and must have an acceptable driving record. Must own required tools to perform repairs. Travel Travel required with a possibility of an overnight stay. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Physical Requirements Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower‑back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 80 lb. Requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina. Ascends/descends with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet, and climbs up and down ladders and/or equipment. Can maneuver safely and work underneath equipment. Reactively inspects work visually and listens to auditory signals and instructions. Work Environment Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment. Regularly works outdoors around moving mechanical parts; noise levels may be loud at times. May be exposed to weather extremes and inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity. Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high‑pressure water, and high‑speed rotating equipment. Required to perform work in cramped spaces and higher places.
