Schedule: Flexible scheduling available with day shifts (6a-7p) or night shifts (6p-7a). Weekend coverage required with a minimum of 2 weekend shifts per month (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday). Friday nights count as weekend coverage. Full-time providers preferred for 4 weekend shifts per month.

• Teaching hospital ICU setting with 10-bed unit and average daily census of 7 patients
• Epic EMR system with streamlined charting workflow
• Bread and butter ICU and Med-Surg case mix; no complex procedures such as intubations, line placements, vents, transplants, or neuro stroke cases
• Responding clinician role with no procedures or billing responsibilities
• Structured daily routine including morning rounds with attending physician and afternoon follow-up rounds
• 90-day credentialing timeline with 3-5 week state licensure processing for qualified PAs

Requirements:

• Physician Assistant (PA) only – NP candidates cannot be considered due to extended licensing timeline
• Active or ability to obtain Massachusetts PA license (candidates must apply for licensure before appointment process can begin)
• Board Certification in Acute Care required
• Minimum 2 years of critical care/ICU experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Active DEA registration required
• Adult patient population experience
