Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Salem, Virginia.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Labor and Delivery\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 09/14/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 14, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 2\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring AWHONN or C-EFM certification and NRP for a night shift assignment.Details\n \n Labor & Delivery unit with 17 inpatient beds and 2 triage beds\n Patient ratio of 1:1-2\n Secretary support on dayshift only, no techs available\n Uses Monica Novii, ambulatory telemetry monitors, and GE EFM equipment\n Documentation via Meditech and Centricity systems\n Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM\n Three 12-hour shifts per week with 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule\n Ready for huddle at 6:45\n Floats to Mother/Baby and Postpartum units as needed\n Facility open to block scheduling\n Requirements\n \n Active VA or compact RN license required\n Minimum 2 years of RN experience required\n Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required\n AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or C-EFM certification required\n Prior Labor and Delivery experience with fetal strip interpretation skills\n Knowledge of common OB medications and obstetrical complications and treatments\n Experience with IV insertion, lab draws, and blood administration\n Familiarity with JADA and BAKRI devices and nitrous administration\n Experience with vaginal exams and setting up delivery tables for vaginal deliveries\n Circulator experience in C-section procedures\n PACU recovery experience for spinal anesthesia\n Antepartum triage experience\n Experience assisting with epidural placement\n US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration\n No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months\n Additional Information\n \n Provide direct patient care for Labor and Delivery patients including vaginal deliveries, C-sections, ECV, and assisted deliveries with vacuum or forceps\n Assist with epidural placement and support anesthesia procedures\n Collaborate with a team approach to patient care\n Uphold AIDET, courtesy, and respect standards for patient experience\n Hospital-provided scrubs required, worn only within the facility\n Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, no local candidates accepted\n One professional reference required for consideration\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-751006.
