Job Description Job Description Pay: $17.00 per hour Job description: A Modular Building Laborer assists in constructing, assembling, and installing prefabricated building components, typically working in a factory setting or on-site to build walls, floors, and roofs. Key tasks include operating power tools (saws, drills), reading tape measures, ensuring structural integrity, and adhering to strict safety standards. Key Responsibilities Assembly: Assemble modular components, including wall panels, trusses, and floor systems, according to blueprints. Installation: Install doors, windows, molding, and insulation in factory settings. Material Prep: Cut, shape, and move wood, metal, and plastic materials using power tools. Sealing & Finishing: Seal, paint, and caulk exterior/interior panels to prepare units for transport. Quality Control: Inspect parts to ensure they meet building codes and company quality standards. Site Support: Assist with transporting materials, cleaning up job sites, and supporting skilled trades (electricians, plumbers). Required Skills and Qualifications Physical Stamina: Ability to lift at least 50lbs consistently, stand for long periods, climb ladders, and perform strenuous tasks like bending and kneeling. Tool Proficiency: Experience using hand tools and power tools (nail guns, drills, saws). Measurement Skills: Strong ability to accurately read a tape measure and understand measurements. Safety Conscious: Knowledge of construction safety practices (OSHA standards) and ability to follow safety warnings. Experience: Previous construction or manufacturing experience is often preferred, but many roles offer on-the-job training. Physical Requirements Regular lifting/moving up to 50lbs. Constant standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and crouching. This role may be physically demanding and involves working in varied environments.
