Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Working under the direction of the licensed nurse, the Certified Nurse Assistant provides nursing care within his/her scope of practice following unit specific standards of care and the policies and procedures of Corona Regional Medical Center. The merged hospitals are now a 238-bed community hospital network comprised of a 160-bed acute care hospital and a 78-bed rehabilitation campus. It is certified by The Joint Commission, employs more than 1,250 trained healthcare workers and has a medical staff of approximately 347 physicians representing more than 40 specialties.

Qualifications:

Essential Knowledge/Skills:

• Current BLS (CPR) required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to exercise phone etiquette and computer skills.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Prior experience as a Monitor Tech preferred or completion of dysrhythmia for monitor techs course within 90 days.
• Completion of unit secretary course or equivalent healthcare experience preferred.

Minimum Essential Experience:

• 2 years of recent CNA experience required.
• Must have current, valid Certified Nurses Assistant certification, or be currently enrolled in accredited Registered Nursing program with completion of the 1st clinical curriculum semester.
• Current BLS (CPR) required through the American Heart Association.
