Job Description
The Respiratory Therapist (RT) delivers specialized diagnostic and therapeutic cardiopulmonary care to patients with acute and chronic respiratory disorders. Operating under the direction of a physician, this role is responsible for the assessment, treatment, management, and monitoring of patients requiring respiratory support across various clinical settings, including intensive care units, emergency departments, and general medical floors.

Core Responsibilities
Patient Assessment & Care Planning: Evaluate patient charts, conduct physical assessments, and collaborate with physicians to develop and modify respiratory care plans.

Therapeutic Interventions: Initiate, maintain, and manage mechanical ventilation and non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV); administer medical gases, aerosolized medications, and bronchopulmonary hygiene therapies.

Diagnostics & Monitoring: Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and analysis, interpret pulmonary function tests (PFTs), and monitor vital physiological parameters.

Emergency Response: Respond to rapid responses, code blues, and trauma emergencies to provide airway management and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate patient care records within the EHR system, ensuring compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
