Major Duties

• Prepares project proposal and cost estimates utilizing input from other J6 functional and technical teams.
• Adheres to overall J6 systems management lifecycle processes to ensure compliance with the objectives and goals of the Department of Defense (DOD) 5000.2 Acquisition and Business Capabilities Lifecycle requirements...
• ...and other applicable DLA and DOD Project Management policies and practices.
• Facilitates needs analysis sessions to define opportunities for business process or technical infrastructure solutions for DLA's core logistics or business functions.
• Provides advice on the impacts, risks and risk mitigation of software development and technology deployment decisions, plans, designs and specifications.
• Supply single point of information, responsibility and control for IT application enhancements/development and technology integration projects, and acts as a management liaison with DLA HQ and/or customers.

Qualification Summary

To qualify for an IT Program Manager (POLICY AND PLANNING), your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Evaluates, monitors, or ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and standards. Assigns tasks for the execution of project plans to specific resources, after management has assigned resources to project. Consults with customers to identify and document requirements, coordinating requirements determination meetings, as needed. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
