Job Details

• Position: Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician
• Location: Hancock, Michigan
• Coverage Dates: October 1, 2026 through November 24, 2026
• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with multiple block dates throughout October and November
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $6,290 to $7,450
• Setting: Emergency Department
• Patient Volume: Approximately 36 patients per day
• Admissions: About 3 per shift
• Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 30 days
• Orientation: Onsite orientation required one day prior to the first assigned shift block
• Charting System: Meditech

Job Requirements

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine required
• Active physician licensure and ability to work in a locum tenens role
• At least 1 year of emergency medicine experience required
• Availability for the scheduled coverage blocks
• Comfort working in a fast-paced emergency department with steady patient flow
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency medicine care to a diverse patient population
• Evaluate and manage an average of 36 patients per day
• Perform medical decision-making for admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Collaborate with ED RNs, advanced practice providers, and available specialty services
• Document patient encounters accurately in Meditech
• Deliver efficient, patient-centered care in a busy emergency room setting
