Maintenance MechanicSafety-Kleen Systems, in Metairie, LA, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our safety conscious team! This team member will be responsible for maintaining & repairing all company equipment & tooling within the facility. This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Pay, schedule, and testing requirements are governed by the union contract.Work Schedule (per CBA): Monday-Friday; 6:00AM - 2:30PMHourly Wage (per CBA): $17.34-$35.70/HRWhy Work for Safety-Kleen?Health & Safety is our #1 priority, and we live it 3-6-5!Leader in environmental products and servicesCompetitive pay and benefitsComprehensive health benefits coverage after 30 daysGroup 401-K and stock optionsOpportunities for growth and development for all the stages of your careerGenerous paid time off, company paid training and tuition reimbursementPositive and safe work environmentsResponsibilitiesPerforms preventative maintenance, conducts inspections, troubleshoots, diagnoses failures & deficiencies & performs necessary corrections.Completes and maintains all service, parts/inventory records in a timely & accurate manner.Completes daily checklist as required for proper operation of maintenance being performed.Assures daily maintenance duties performed and communicates any problems or issues with the Unit it immediately upon discovery.LOTO – Always follow safety protocolReviews all applicable SOPs, and complete all mandatory Company and job specific training.Completes and submits all associated paperwork as required for tracking PM schedules.Conducts Safety Checks & Annual InspectionsFabricating, welding, modifications etc. / pump & piping installsEnsures that work meets all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures.Ensures, understands, and has ownership for area specific permit required compliance standards.Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment.Performs other assignments as assigned by management.Keeps within Compliance Standards.Performs maintenance functions, including, but not limited to Electrical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, and MechanicalMaintains facility equipment through Preventative Maintenance Management systems.Assures proper preventative maintenance of all plant equipment, stationary and mobile.Assembles components and parts, as required by manufacturers.Maintains all plant equipment and systems.Operates a forklift and various heavy equipment, when necessary, to assist in diagnosis.Reviews all applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs) and satisfactorily completes quizzes.Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment. Drives Clean Compliance Standard.Ensures that work meets compliance standards within facility operation. Ensures that work meets all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures.Other Duties AssignedTravel to other location local on occasion – St. Rose.Qualifications3-5 years maintenance experience in a plant or Industrial environment preferredPlant maintenance experience in one or more of the following areas: mechanically inclined/strong troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, pneumatics, installationsWilling and open to continuous learningMust be able to change directionsSmall packaging, canning or bottling maintenance experience a plus!Hydraulics systems experiencePumps experience, and centrifugal and diaphragm pumps an asset –Ability to meet physical demands of the position and lift up to 50lbs, including movements such as lifting, bending, reaching, climbing, and the manipulating and handling of objectsClean and valid driver's license
