Pierce Coleman, PLLC, a boutique employment (management side) and municipal law firm with offices located in Scottsdale and Mesa, Arizona is growing and adding a Litigation Attorney. If you are looking for your next opportunity and a place you won't want to leave and have 4+ years of litigation experience, then this is the place for you! The ideal candidate will be comfortable drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings, drafting, and arguing motions, as well as taking and defending depositions primarily in matters in state and federal court involving claims of discrimination, harassment, wrongful terminations, etc., experience in labor and employment law is preferred; but candidates with strong litigation experience and an interest in labor and employment law will be considered.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Case evaluation recommendation and support.
• Communicate with clients and counsel.
• Propound and respond to discovery.
• Perform legal research and draft memoranda.
• Draft responsive pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
• Prepare for, take and defend depositions.
• Prepare for and attend court hearings and personnel appeal hearings.
• Prepare for and attend mediations.
• Provide excellent service to all clients.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Four or more years of civil litigation experience, labor and employment experience preferred.
• Must be in good standing with the Arizona State Bar.
• Experience with depositions, motions and court hearings is required.
• Strong research and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and to multitask while demonstrating strong attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Westlaw, and other Internet database platforms.
