Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our Family Birthing Center team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing and possess the required certifications.Job DetailsUnit: Family Birthing Center (L&D, Postpartum & Obstetrics)Shift Length: 12 hoursGuaranteed Hours: 36 hours per weekShift Type: Nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)Weekends: Every other weekend requiredHolidays: Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)Floor Orientation: 2-3 days with a preceptorResponsibilitiesProvide high-quality care to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods.Monitor and assess maternal and fetal well-being throughout the delivery process.Collaborate with healthcare team members to create and implement patient care plans.Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies necessary for deliveries.Assist in emergency situations and make independent nursing decisions.QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.Required Certifications:ACLSAWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM)BLS (AHA)NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)Strong emergency response skills and ability to work independently, especially during night shifts.Experience with Cerner EMR system is preferred.Knowledge of labor and delivery protocols for standard cases, preterm deliveries, couplets, and general GYN patients.Additional InformationNo self-scheduling; new schedules posted 6 weeks in advance.No floating between units; responsibility confined to Labor and Delivery or Mother-Baby.Newborns may require IV antibiotics or short-term oxygen support; transferring mothers under 34 weeks.On-site availability of nursing and respiratory therapy support during deliveries.Join our compassionate and dynamic team dedicated to providing exceptional maternal and newborn care.
