Senior Accountant

StevenDouglas is partnered with a high-growth, PE backed HVAC company out of Chicago's western suburbs to identify a Senior Accountant! This role will report to the Corporate Controller and support the high-growth across all accounting functions! Main duties and responsibilities: Prepare accurate financial statements, accruals, and supporting schedules as part of month-end close Prepare and maintain work-in-progress (WIP) schedules for service companies Support cash forecasting and reporting for assigned business units Support accounting managers at business units who are still being trained on WIP and other technical areas Assist with the integration of newly acquired companies onto accounting platform and processes Book journal entries and perform hands-on data manipulation and analysis as needed Support the Controller and the broader accounting team across a variety of projects as the company grows, rather than working within a narrow, fixed job scope Help standardize accounting practices at newly acquired companies, many of which arrive with less sophisticated accounting functions Support the transition to Sage Intacct, while working alongside legacy QuickBooks processes at recently acquired companies What we're looking for: 4-5+ years of accounting experience with strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles Ability to prepare accurate financial statements and understand accruals and financial risk #J-18808-Ljbffr StevenDouglas
