Job Title: Aerospace Quality Assurance Receiving Inspector

Location: Tacoma, WA

Pay Range: $21 - $24 DOE

Position Summary

The Aerospace Quality Assurance Receiving Inspector is responsible for the full lifecycle of incoming materials, including receipt, inspection, inventory management, and issuance to the manufacturing floor. This role supports a small, collaborative team covering receiving, inspection, stores, and inventory control functions.

The selected candidate will onboard into one primary functional area and be cross-trained across the remaining areas as proficiency is demonstrated. Adaptability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn are essential for success in this role.

Core Responsibilities

Receiving & Inspection

• Receive, unload, and process inbound shipments; verify quantities, part numbers, and descriptions against packing lists and purchase orders.

• Accurately transact receipts in the ERP/WMS system; affix identification tags and stage materials in designated quarantine areas.

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections using precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.

• Review and verify Certificates of Conformance (CoC) and Material Test Reports (MTRs).

• Identify, document, and segregate non-conforming material; initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and maintain secure quarantine of rejected items.

• Maintain a clean, organized receiving dock in alignment with 5S standards.

Stores & Inventory Control

• Issue materials and kits to manufacturing operations and process all related transactions within the ERP system.

• Maintain accurate physical and system inventory through proper material handling, location management, and cycle counting.

• Transport materials throughout the facility using hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts, including movement to and from upper mezzanine storage areas.

• Collaborate closely with Production Planning, Quality Assurance, and Shipping teams to support efficient material flow.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in manufacturing, warehouse logistics, or material handling (aerospace or plastics manufacturing experience preferred).

• Ability to interpret and process technical documentation, including purchase orders, packing lists, CoCs, and MTRs.

• Basic proficiency in ERP or WMS systems; familiarity with Microsoft Outlook and Teams.

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Valid driver's license required; ability to obtain forklift certification.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day.

• Frequent stair climbing to access mezzanine storage areas.

• Operation of material handling equipment, including forklifts.

• Fine motor skills and finger dexterity for inspection and counting of small parts.

• Ability to work with or around chemical solvents.

Shift Availability

• Must be available to work either day or swing shift .

• Swing shift includes a $1.50/hour shift premium.

• Overtime is optional and never mandatory.
