Description: Med/Surg unit with a patient ratio of 4-5 during day shifts and 4-6 during evening shifts. Overflow patients may include Covid and TB cases. Patient population includes oncology, surgical, cellulitis, GI bleeds, and CHF. Pediatric patients may be present, but pediatric experience is not required. A charge nurse takes a partial assignment and phlebotomy services are available. The unit has a support structure including Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and a Rapid Response Team available 24/7. Charting is done using the Epic system. Professional scrub colors are required. Weekend rotations are in effect, with holiday expectations set to every other holiday.
