About the Position

Job Title: OB Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: OB Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Valid state license required Certifications: BLS, CST preferred Must-Have: - BLS certification - At least 2 years of experience - Travel experience preferred for highly experienced candidates - Minimum of 6 weekend shifts per scheduling period Description: Local candidates are preferred. Experience in abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral tubal ligation is necessary. Proficiency in aseptic technique and knowledge of case carts is required. Candidates should be familiar with cell saver operations and cervical cerclage procedures. Experience in C-sections and vaginal deliveries is essential. Knowledge of crash cart protocols and dilation & curettage is beneficial. Candidates must be well-versed in high-level disinfectant processes and isolation precautions. Proficiency in the decontamination and sterilization process is expected. Preparation of hard instrument containers and sets/trays assembly is necessary. Sharps safety knowledge is required. Familiarity with Epic charting systems is preferred. Ideal candidates should have experience in a fast-paced surgical environment. Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams is important. Flexibility to adapt to changing unit needs and patient care demands is essential. A commitment to maintaining patient safety and quality care is expected. Candidates must provide accurate work history information for verification. Compliance with all documentation requirements prior to the start date is mandatory.
