Nuclear Medicine Technologist

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures while providing support for other imaging technologists as needed. This role facilitates smooth and efficient patient flow and requires flexibility to work various shifts or at different campuses as needed. The technologist will troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in quality assurance, and resolve image processing issues. Continuous education and adherence to safety measures are expected, along with maintaining radiation safety protocols while handling radionuclides and pharmaceuticals.

Responsibilities

• Perform examinations and procedures as required to assist in patient throughput.
• Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards of care as warranted by regulatory entities.
• Maintain consistency with administrative and departmental policies, emphasizing professionalism and confidentiality.
• Promote exceptional physician satisfaction by providing meaningful assistance to radiologists and referring physicians.
• Adapt patient assessment and care methods to accommodate the unique needs of each patient served.
• Ensure completed exams are accurately scanned and stored in the PACS system.
• Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions as needed, coordinating with management and biomedical personnel.
• Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain competencies and improve service quality.

Schedule

This position is full-time, with a schedule of 5 days, 8 hours per day from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Must stay past 5 PM until all cases for the day are completed. Weekend and on-call duties are required, typically every second or third weekend.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or an accepted and approved equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting preferred.
• Basic computer experience required.
• Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) certification by ARRT or NMTCB required.
• State Licensure required (Texas: MRT by TMB).
• BLS certification required (AHA only).
