Safety Specialist

Safety Where It Matters Most—In the Field We’re seeking a Safety Specialist with experience in pavement, asphalt, or roadway maintenance operations to help lead and strengthen our safety culture. This is a hands‑on role supporting field teams in dynamic, high‑risk environments where safety is critical to success. You’ll play a key role in preventing injuries, ensuring regulatory compliance, and proactively reducing risk —all while partnering closely with operations and leadership teams. What You’ll Do Partner with leadership to develop, implement, and continuously improve safety programs and procedures Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on OSHA regulations and industry safety standards Conduct jobsite safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across roadway and pavement operations Ensure compliance with OSHA recordkeeping, reporting requirements, and regulatory standards Monitor changes in safety regulations and adapt company policies to stay ahead of compliance requirements Lead and support incident investigations , identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions Identify and drive initiatives to reduce injuries, incidents, and occupational hazards Deliver and enhance safety training programs, toolbox talks, and emergency procedures Promote a proactive safety culture by engaging employees at all levels and reinforcing accountability Develop and communicate safety alerts, bulletins, and companywide updates Prepare and present safety performance reports and metrics to leadership What You Bring Experience in road construction, pavement, asphalt, or maintenance environments (strongly preferred) Deep knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety best practices Proven ability to conduct inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence safety behavior in the field Excellent communication skills—able to engage crews, supervisors, and executives alike Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail Experience developing or improving safety policies and procedures Ability to manage multiple priorities across active, fast‑paced jobsites Comfort with physical jobsite demands, including occasional lifting Key Strengths for Success Passion for protecting people and preventing incidents Ability to build trust and drive cultural change around safety Data‑driven mindset to track, analyze, and improve performance Collaborative approach working across operations and leadership Compensation (Based on experience) Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Short/Long term disability, 401K +match Why This Role Matters This role goes beyond compliance—you’ll help ensure that every crew member goes home safely each day while supporting the delivery of critical infrastructure projects. #J-18808-Ljbffr Employbridge
