This is an ideal role for an experienced oncology nurse who enjoys care coordination, patient education, and advocacy.Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Education and SupportEducate patients and families on chemotherapy and immunotherapyProvide guidance, reassurance, and clear communication throughout treatmentCare CoordinationPrepare patients for treatment initiation, including:Pre-treatment stagingLaboratory work and diagnostic testingVenous access placementCollaborative CareServe as a clinical liaison between BIDMC Boston and BID Needham providersSupport Hematology/Oncology physicians and nurse practitioners with:Telephone triageMedication prescription renewalsOutside laboratory orderingReferrals and PartnershipsCoordinate care with:Visiting Nurse Association (VNA)Hospice and home care agenciesCardiology, Endocrinology, Genetics, Nutrition, Social Work, Physical Therapy, and Palliative CareOperational ExcellenceAssist with pre-authorization processesEnsure accurate scheduling of consultations, diagnostics, and treatmentsPerform patient assessments and collect clinical historiesParticipate in rounds, case conferences, and quality improvement initiativesContribute to process and care delivery improvements in outpatient oncologyWhat We’re Looking ForRequired QualificationsAssociate’s Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)Current Registered Nurse (RN) licenseBasic Life Support (BLS) certification3–5 years of related nursing experienceOncology nursing experienceProficiency with electronic medical records and web-based applicationsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPointPreferred QualificationsOutpatient oncology experienceCare coordination or nurse navigator experienceYou’ll Thrive Here If You HaveStrong clinical judgment and decision-making skillsExcellent communication with patients, families, and care teamsAbility to manage complex, non-routine situations with confidence and professionalismA collaborative mindset and commitment to service excellencePassion for continuous learning and advancing oncology nursing practiceCompensationHourly Pay Range: $39.14 – $101.14(Compensation based on experience and qualifications)Pay Range:$39.14 – $101.14The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time.
