Speech Language Specialist - Elementary School

Elementary School Speech Language Specialist Tenure Track Position

Hanover Township Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Specialist. This full-time, tenure-track position is ideal for an educator who is committed to supporting the academic, behavioral, social, and functional development of students with significant learning needs in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to students with multiple disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Screen and evaluate all students and those having previously received speech correction and others referred by teachers, administrators or other pupil services staff for speech disorders.
• Design and implement developmentally appropriate, differentiated lessons aligned to the New Jersey Student Learning Standards
• Utilize evidence-based strategies to support students' academic, communication, social, and life skills development
• Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, therapists, case managers, and general education staff
• Foster a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment tailored to individual student needs
• Maintain accurate student records and participate in IEP meetings and progress reviews
• Communicate regularly with families to promote home-school collaboration

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Valid New Jersey Speech-Language Specialist certification
• Experience in speech/language services with students preferred
• Experience with Augmentative Communication Devices preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills

Salary in accordance with the established HTEA 2025-2026 Salary Guide: BA, Step 1, $62,940.00, - MA +45, Step 20, $105,165.00 (Until a new contract is approved for 2026-2027 by the Board of Education & the HTEA)
