Certified Nursing AssistantA Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) assists patients with activities of daily living to all patients and assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment under the direction of and supervision of the RN/LPN in charge of the team or unit. Scheduled workdays and times could vary and will include weekends and holidays.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesSupports and promotes an environment conducive with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the hospital.Assist patients to ensure their cleanliness, grooming, nourishment, rest, activity, and elimination in a manner conducive to the patient's comfort and safety.Take and record vital signs, height, weight, intake and output, and measurements as applicable, in an accurate and precise manner.Notifies nurse of changes in patient's condition in a timely and appropriate mannerKeep written notes of specific assignments and record pertinent information about the patients.Promptly answers call lights.Transports patients as needed though the facility.Maintains confidentiality of all patients, hospital, or physician related informationAssists with daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of equipment, work, and storage areas.Keeps patient rooms neat and clean.Maintain orderly condition of assigned work area.Is knowledgeable of general hospital policies and procedures.Other duties may be assigned and are subject to change with or without prior notice.Other ResponsibilitiesCompletes assigned daily duties.Accepts reassignment to other units if necessary.Follows expected work practices.Displays thoroughness and accuracy of work.Works in a safe manner, including reporting unsafe equipment or environment.Well organized, accepts assignments willingly and accomplishes them quickly.Anticipates problems and suggests solutions.Helps with not specifically assigned duties.Works steadily and always keeps busy.Maintain knowledge and skills necessary to communicate and interact with patients, visitors, and staff in the following age groups: Infant, Pediatric/adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric.Ability to work well with a diverse work team.Ability to work under pressure with time constraints.Ability to concentrate.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Good mental health and emotional maturityGood personal grooming and hygieneRecognizes and respects the individual emotional, social, and cultural needs of patients, including their religious beliefs.Preserves the dignity and respect of all Patients.Displays knowledge of sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment, and proceduresDemonstrates knowledge of and practices Universal PrecautionsWillingness to perform a variety of minimal repetitive tasks that may involve unpleasant conditions and maintain patience and tact.Possession of a genuine interest and concern for geriatric and disabled persons(The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
