Residence Monitor - Per DiemYWCA Central Massachusetts - Worcester, MA 01608OverviewSalary Range $16.50 Hourly Level Entry Position Type Per Diem Job Shift Overnight Education Level High School Category Nonprofit - Social ServicesDescriptionAs a Residence Monitor you will assist in maintaining security for the building and for residents and perform some custodial functions.Hours are on an as needed, on call basis. Third shift differential of $1.00 per hour.Responsibilities:Answers phone, processes calls, and assists residents in emergency situationsAdmits residents into building from 10:00p.m. to 6:00a.m.Explains policies of residence and problem-solves issues involving residentsConducts tours of each residence floor periodically each nightRecords residents and/or building occurrences in daily log and informs Residence Manager.Monitors building security and alarm systems, and initiates emergency procedures as necessaryDusts furniture and vacuums carpet in Members' Lounge and Lobby area nightly; wipes tables in vending area nightly; straightens materials on tables and in kiosks as neededProvides relief coverage for front desk as neededPerforms all other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalentAbility to work independentlyAbility to follow both verbal and written instructionsGood decision making skillsDemonstrated skills in relation to a diverse client populationKnowledge of group living dynamics preferred
