Sulphur, OK | Customer Service | Full Time Description Summary: Performs a wide range of food related services to ensure an efficient and professional café operation. Supports program mission to serve appetizing and nutrient dense foods using proper food handling techniques. Responsibilities: Provides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types Maintains a clean, organized work area and ensures a safe environment Maintains and promotes professionalism Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards Maintains knowledge of and follows all rules, regulations, policies and guidelines for assigned area Assists in preparation of orders for food and food service products for cost effectiveness and efficiency of operation Maintains proper sanitation and safety practices Ensures cleanliness, maintenance, safety and sanitation of kitchen and or other assigned areas and reports all necessary problems immediately Works with Catering Team to execute catering needs Ability to prepare food for service including but not limited to chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, cutting fruit, preparing meats and stocking inventory appropriately Operates point-of-sale terminal to tally customer purchases and ensure accurate payment is received Provides accurate change for cash purchases Processes discounts, refunds, exchanges, coupons accurately Balances register/terminal and completes reports for receipts, cash balance May perform minor trouble shooting of POS Maintains accurate cash count and assume responsibility for any shortages at end of shift May be responsible to confirm POS pricing updates Stocks inventory several times during shift by placing products on display shelf for customer availability Performs all other duties as assigned Competencies: Able to follow instructions, both written and oral Ensures compliance Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements Ability to work independently Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability Applies judgment to ensure monies are secure Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines Understand, utilize and apply cash handling knowledge Knowledge of the methods and practices used in food preparation, serving and storage Filing skills Ability to plan, organize and follow through on assignments Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management Skills: Count lrg amts of cash by hand / with cash counting machines Must be able to operate various kitchen equipment Operate point-of-sale terminal Experience: No prior experience required Education: High School, GED or Equivalent Credentials: Pass general background check Standard Driver's License ServSafe Certification Working Conditions: Customer service Food service Works in a kitchen environment Organized Structured Team-oriented Various kitchen equipment Point-of-sale equipment Subject to kitchen hazards such as burns, knives, slippery floors etc. Communications written, verbal Communication with groups Intent to sell, increase sales, excellent service Effective work relationships inside and outside organization Interacts with clinical, support, technical, professional or management staff in a variety of settings and situations Pass pre-employment drug test Sometimes bend, kneel, stoop, push, reach Hand-eye coordination, reach and grasp Manual dexterity Sometimes lift and or carry up to 50 lbs Light to non-strenuous work Able to smell and distinguish food flavor quality Standing up to 75% of shift Able to taste and distinguish food flavor quality Visual acuity for detail, distance, color, depth perception May work day shift Training It is the responsibility of each employee to attend required training for their position or profession as determined by their line of support (LOS) or the leadership of the Chickasaw Nation.
