SWIM COACH

JOB DESCRIPTION

Who we are:

Westwood Country Club is a premier family-oriented athletic club located in central Austin that provides a variety of quality services and activities for the recreation and dining needs of members.

Position Summary:

Coaches and manages Westwood Country Club’s competitive swim team. This is a seasonal, part-time or casual, non-exempt, hourly position. Work schedule will include nights, weekends, and holidays based on scheduled events or club necessity.

Compensation: $25.00+ per hour, based on experience.

Essential Job Functions: *including but not limited to*

• Coaches the Club’s swim team(s)
• Organizes all aspects of swim meets including, but not limited to, scheduling individual race participants, recording and posting start times, and distributing race ribbons
• Attends and participates in practice sessions, coach’s meetings and any other activities involving the swim team
• Maintains all necessary records as determined by the Aquatics Director, before meeting begins.
• Helps with setting up for meets along with clean-up and rearranging pool furniture/equipment after meet.
• Perform other tasks as required by the Aquatics Director

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

Current certification in First Aid and CPR/AED required. Current certification in Safety Training for Swim Coaches and/or Lifeguard Training required.

Physical Demands:

This position involves sitting, standing, walking, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting, reaching, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting at least 50 pounds. Job involves swimming and may involve lifesaving which will require physical exertion.
